Sorry But to give an answer on the main question: YES of course I'm going to buy ! It's awsome!

Seen it a thousand times, mostly with other games where the developers do NOT pay attention to people. Larian seems to excel 'beyond' others in that area, pardon the pun.

Cool Lar, that makes me feel even better about the final game.

Lar, are you saying that BD places more emphasis on the use of the pause key then DD? Similar to Baldurs Gate where you needed to pause some battles or you would have too much going on at once to win?
I think in DD I used the pause key maybe 20 times in a whole game

If I buy ? I still hope that I can win it somehow
But well, the demo was a way too short for me. I hope that these few rooms really only show a very small part of Act1.
If I buy a RPG for 45€ I want to have a very long playtime with it. Short RPGs is like a shot in the head.
The demo was also very linear...I hope this will change in the retail aswell.
The rest is very well done and I love the new combat/skill system.
But why are there no voices in the german demo? Evil Lar...

I'm going to buy the game, of course. But the demo isn't as much fun as I had while beta-testing act 3. I was still enjoying myself, because I was a tad disappointed when I arrived at the pit -> end of demo; I needed to play it again, or find something else to do.

The combat system IS different in comparaison to DivineDivinity. Different creatures are going to be dealt with using different combat tactics. And the easiness of the archery skill has been tweaked significantly. I remember killing scores of zombies with my bow, in DD, giving easy experience points. The challenge factor has definitly increased.

Ir realy liked the demo, though it was a bit short! (way to short )

As for targetting , i've got no problems cause i always tend to use the pauze control, but then again i really like turn based games.
Just wanna say i like how Larian dealt with Beyond Divinity; less hack and slashy and more challenging !

Go Larian !

Oh and off course i gonna buy !

(still thanks for helping me Yann)

To be honest, we're pretty surprised about the reactions on the combat system - we actually thought most of you were going to prefer it over Divine Divinity's combat system. But you do need the pause key. If you play it without, life sometimes becomes very complex in BD. As for the combats themselves, remember, you only get the beginning of a very large game in the demo, and the first levels serve the purpose of familiarizing you with the controls.

We have picked up on your comments, and here's what I promise we'll address:

Targeting - non trivial, but we'll think of something. It's true that select all/ctrl is something that should be in.

Hotkeys - we'll add more (I do want to point out that you can recenter on an active partymember by pressing F1 or F2 twice, and select the leader by pressing it once)

Explaining:A lot of the comments I read here are actually already addressed in the game, but those features are apparently not clear enough. I don't know exactly how we'll explain, given the sheer amount of features, but we'll try to think of something.

Please keep the feedback coming, we are listening.

Thanks

Having to press a button to keep re-centering is a really annoying "feature". How about an option to "auto-center" or not? Give the player the choice if he wants it to snap back to his main selected character after he's done moving the screen around. Also, if by hotkeys you mean the ability to "select all characters" and assign keys to scroll around the map (wasd for example) that would be GREATLY appreciated. It's really annoying to have to use the mouse at the edge of the screen to scroll around. Especially in a game like Divinity where you have to be totally aware of your surroundings and able to hover your mouse cursor over lots of different things. Can't really hover your mouse over anything if you're using it to scroll around. Would also make moving your characters while scrolling easier.

There is actually a way - just keep the left mouse button down like you would be walking with the avatar centered, the game will autocenter.

From the available information upto now, you should find or get summoning dolls in the game. Then you can summon a creature to fight with you. You can give it weapons, level it up and even give it skills.

I have only one complaint so far, and it's a complaint i had with Divine Divinity too. I'm talking about the map information! I'd like to be able to see a clear marker for stuff like doors to make them easier to find. I'm talking about doors that requires a manual click to get them to open.

[color:"orange"]But well, the demo was a way too short for me. I hope that these few rooms really only show a very small part of Act1.[/color]

Someone posted that it was about 1/5 of act 1.

Act 1 was designed to be a little linear (to start off with some structure and let people become familiar with the controls), the other acts are not linear.

Well I felt that theire where no real battles in the demo. I can imagine that difficult mosters would make the combat great. Maybe I should play on a higher difficult lmevel . I like that theire are less monsters an the battles are more tactical. It just needs some getting used to. But I like the combat system once you get used to it.

Also double-clicking on the portrait OR pressing F1 or F2 twice.
