Well, your question isn't very clear, so I'm not exactly sure what you mean. You find out that George has been murdered fairly early in the game, but you're not able to solve this quest till later in the game. If you've already met with Tutamun, sounds to me you've solved the quest. Just need to talk to Mardaneus to get the exp reward. Hope this helps.
