Tovi, You are perfectly right. Although I don't see the learning curve only from a negative POV: DD had basically Diablo's system, which everyone know but which was overused countless of times. BD has an all new, fully customizable system. Although I admit, I got confused at first, later I've seen it as a boon. It's good that Larian made a leap forward by designing their own system. The music was disspointing for me, but from the small 1 minute melody which was released on IGN's peek of the week, I know the music will be better.
I am not fond of the setting but the story starts with a climax, just like a comic book or a novel: Will the hero escape? What is the souldbinding for? Where are the characters?
Whereas in DD you started as a generic hero with a vague intro movie, in a friendly village with healers and a lot of places to sleep.
Good comparison, though.

Looks like most of people aren't satisfied with the music in the demo. all the musics in the demo are excellent for me and they are still keeping DD mood.

I liked the music. In fact, since it is in ogg format (in '\wav\music'), I've been playing in the background off and on while on the computer.

unfortubnately for me I am unable to play the demo, but when I get the required hardware I believe that I'll highly enjoy it. I wish Larian the best of luck on making BD a truly awesome RPG!

i like the music so far.....excellent job and i can imagine the rest of the music will be just as good and better... Kirill likes Pink Floyd... cuz in one piece of music ... i swear i could hear a dozen different tunes in there... that music was deep man.... oooohhh,...here comes the flashbacks!...
dungeon music is good and flows nicely... some stutters here and there but i'm sure that'll get worked out.

There's voice in the music.
Yes, there is, unless demons from the netherworlds have infested my system and are stealing the hideous rituals which will call upon eternal doom upon us all. It's near the end of the title song, I think.
Oh Lorvidale, never shall the sun shines on thee again...

2)[color:"orange"] Lack of typical Divinity story-twists and sudden plot changes in story[/color]
Is it? I already feel there's fishy going afoot... SPOILER AHEAD . . . . . Humans enslaving imps? If you choose not kill the imp with Fergus, you may be friendly terms with most imps, and there's a sense that the humans have enslaved the imps.
And there's the guy in the prison cell who is asking for water. Give him two bottles and he starts to speak...in a creepy...robotic...voice. That freaks me out. Something is defintely NOT RIGHT here.
Also, there's a mention of the Damned One. Remember the Divine One?
From those, I think that more plot twists are forth-coming. There's some suprise moments too, though I wish not spoil anymore.
Oh Lorvidale, never shall the sun shines on thee again...

Ok, here is my main question to you all. If you haven't ever played Divinity (full or demo), would you have gotten a good impression of the Beyond Divinity Demo?
I personally feel that the demo didn't reflect the complete potential of the full game. Ok, granted, surprises are always fun, but if you don't show the public what you've got in the demo, the full might seem less interesting.
I'm simply worried for Larian. They are the second Belgian games company to make a great game. Anyone remember Outcast? That was a great Belgian game too, but while creating the sequal, the company went bust, and I haven't heard of them since. I don't want that to happen to Larian... Not over a silly little demo anyway. Does that sound so crazy?

Thx Raze I didn't know that the music is in ogg, I added the 3 songs to my playlist in winamp. So looking at the names of the songs it seems that the full game has 12 songs.

Not over a silly little demo anyway. Does that sound so crazy? Well, I think that Beyond Divinity reflects better the Divinity-style games. MANY people didn't bother with DD because in the demo, the dungeon was WAY too long. I think that was one of the reasons DD didn't sell as well. Outcast was made by a belgian company?! Was the great software-based engine I ever saw. Amazing Action-Adventure, though the story begun like Stargate.

Yep Outcast was made by a Belgian company, I think it was located in "Geel". The sequel was really looking good, such a shame it went broke.

I didn't start playing Divinity until after a friend recommended it. I dismissed it as a Diablo clone when I first saw it.
PS: I love Stargate.

So looking at the names of the songs it seems that the full game has 12 songs. I assumed those were just for act 1, and the other acts would have about a dozen songs each, as well. That may not be the case, but Divinity had 44 songs....
