Not a book review thread, just a "what are you reading at the moment?" thing.
I just finished God Emperor of Dune and am left with mixed feelings. On one hand, I could marvel at the philosophical complexities presented by Leto II and excerpts from the Stolen Journals. On the other hand, I am close to blink and mutter, "Wtf is this?" in regard to all the psychobabbles and odd and odder inter-character relationships. (Hwi Noree makes me want to... do terrible things. Like slap her.) I couldn't empathize with the characters very much, and at times found Leto a tad... pretentious. Oddly enough, the ending of this book struck me as poignant, even if it's what's supposed to happen.
But damn it, I'll finish this series if it kills me. *goes off to start Heretics of Dune*
