UPDATE: New samples below, just experimenting.

Several of you have suggested that you prefer less or no echo. Here they are without said echo:

Here's a tougher more evil sounding death night:

A little more twisted sounding:

The original voice without any processing:

For those that are curious, I lowered the pitch a few notches (about a whole step), added effects which add layers to the voice making it sound thicker and more evil. Then I boosted the overall low end and took out some treble. For the newer samples, I added various other effects to alter the voice further.

sorry, but like i noted in another thread, i dislike it, especially compared to what we have now.

I made one too... People said he sounded like Darth Vader, so I added some of my own personal heavy breathing in the background... Oh, and lowered his voice a little... (I messed up the quality though)

LOL!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> now that should be The imps voice.

I don't quite like any of the "improved" voices actually.

it's basically the echoe that pretty much doesn't cut it for me.
I rather have the emotionless original voice, the lack of emotiont makes it sort of intriguing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I like the new voices, but maybe take out some of the echo effects.

The deeper voice is ok. Echos are not so good.

Muze, I liked the one without the echo too. But I wanted my other person to talk too. I hope it will happen in the game.

I happen to like the echo voices better, but the echo volume should be reduced. the non-echo voice still sounds flat and reeks of bad acting. the sample 1 and 2 really sounds like he's talking under a helmet (or bucket <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />). good job <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />!

WEll I do think it is an improvement without echo. The very first one is the best sounding one.

Not dramatically because the source is jsut monotone. It sounds like the robot girl from small wonder.

At least I know, without great technical knowledge on my part, that the entire dk voice could be reencoded in what, a few hours. I hope the larians at least look at what you did and decide if its an improvement or not.

I'd personally re record the entire voice with a professional actor because odds are there are hours of that character speaking and I feel hes not dramatic enough to speak in this fantasy story. Its just the truth I dont want to hear arguing about it its self evident.

If it cant be done I think ur method is an improvement also.

btw, WITHOUT echo is much better.
