The actor sounds *exactly* like he's reading from a script. Wrong words are accented and the timing is wrong, making it sound unnatural and stilted. In addition, sometimes you can hear the "pop" that comes from speaking too close to the microphone (sorry, not a sound guy so I don't know the correct term <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ).
Now, you could argue the DK *should* sound unnatural and stilted but as with the previous poster, all I hear is a guy reading a script too close to the mic rather than a supernatural character.
Edit: I also agree that the DK clearly has emotions - for starters, he doesn't like being forged to a human, right? The script is full of sarcasm and distaste but they're not delivered that way at all.
