Hi there, I just got DD yesterday and haven't been able to stop playing it since except for the essential things in life. I (stupidly) never thought that this would be a good game due to the name. I don't think I've ever been as wrong in my whole life. I was a big Diablo 2 fan for a long time. This game make D2 look sick. Basically I just wanted to say hello to everyone and apologize to the devs for not picking this game up sooner.

Hi, I just got the game about a week ago and I love it!!! But for some reason my game crashes all the time! Sometimes it doesn't but most days it does. When I load it up it asks me to reconfigure it...what do I do???

You know the best thing about DD? It just keeps getting better, as you keep playing. Only the ending is very hack-and-slash, but as a D2 fan, you'll probably like that part too.

Hi! Welcome to the forum. is a very hungry game. Make sure you have no background programs running. Firewalls, messenger, etc. Make sure you have the latest patch, it helps. is huge, and it takes alot of power to run it. On slower machines you have to give it all ya got! Every now and then I get a crash to the desktop. I am used to it. There is no need to reconfigure everytime it does this. The game is just telling you it was not shut down properly. Even though there are times that it shuts itself down improperly. Heh...For the love of the game I overlook these small annoying imperfections. I keep in mind that the game was rushed at the last minit, and it was not supported by the developer CDV. Even though they said they were going to make patches etc. They lost my respect, and I will never buy another game put out by them. Our Larians on the other hand were kind enough to make patches for the game, even though the responsibility was not theirs. They get my utmost respect for this! Save often friend! In this way if you get a crash you will not loose your progress. Good luck! Remember all things Divine Divinity belong in the Divine Divinity section of this forum...

Thanks for the warm welcome! I installed the patch before I even booted the game for the first time (I always look for a patch on the dev's site when I get a new game). I've played for about 15 hours now and haven't had any problem with the game crashing, I hope this continues. As for it being a resource hungry program, I've got a 3 GHz P4 w/HT, 1024mb DRAM, & a Radeon 9800 pro. I haven't met a program yet that this comp couldn't take . So far I've really enjoyed how the game is so open ended. It's such a breath of fresh air after years of D2. And it's open ended without being too wide open. Also the fact that you really can multi-class without a penalty is wonderful, it's something that I think should be included in most RPG's. Another thing that amazes me is this forum. It's rare to find a forum thriving like this so long after a game has been released. And it doesn't seem to be forum filled with flaming, which makes the whole deal even more sweet. Off to play!

LOL! No, I don't have a plasma monitor but I do have a 19" flat screen CRT. And I saved up for a while to get this comp and am very happy with it. Right after Christmas Dell had an amazing deal where I got all of this (minus the monitor) for $1150 (USD).

As for BD not running on anything over 2.5 GHz...... funny.
