Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems Stalker cave CRASH

Hi there,
just made it to solve all the crashes I had playing DD and was finally going on with my quests.
Now I do have another big problem.
I enter the Stalker cave and as soon as I explore the eastern part the game crashes to my desktop.
No error messages...
Tried deleting files in the dynamic folder, resetting config, rebooting, nothing changes.
Always crash to desktop <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />
Anybody can help me ?

Furthermore, my pyramids do not work any longer (maybe I used them too much) so I can't use any pyramid trick to teleport...

There is a cutscene conversation triggered as you approach the south east section of the cave. You talked to the old man who flagged the location on your map?
Try running the configuration program and switching to software mode (temporarily), and maybe reduce the resolution; that helps with some cut scene problems.

What point in the game are you? Have you been to the castle yet? Rescued Zandalor and let him teleport you somewhere? You can not over use the teleporter stones, but there are a couple places they get disabled (like the final room at the bottom of the catacombs).

I think I am almost at the end, as I already did most of the quests and miss only the stalker quest and a couple of other ones.
I think I overused the pyramids...
Hope I will still be able to finish the game though

The stalker quest is not essential, though it is required if you want to get into the easter egg area (well actually there are other ways in);

Troubleshooting Tips (& manual install procedure)

As describe better in the above topic, if you start a new game, cheat to level the character up, run to the Dark Forest, get the quest and go to the stalker cave, that will help determine if the problem is with the game itself, or in the save game folder.
Alternately, if you have access to a different computer, you could try your save game there.


You can also just get the silver armour by downloading the inventory files;
