Aphazel, the potato joke started in a time where polls were made in an excessive manner. So one started to put in "potato" as one option to vote for.

Look at the poll about the Deathknight's voice, once again the potatoe gets the highest score !
It's a way to say : "Don't change the voice, it's not important".
But it does only exist in this forum.

The story of the potatoe option
Yes the "potatoe option" started in the old Poll thread.
A very great thread with a lot of fun in it but it has been deleted.
Now there is a new Poll thread somewhere in the section "Chat English".
I was not the first to use the "potatoe option", it was the bean.
I thought that it was a great idea and i added a "potatoe option" in all my polls.
Now there is no real poll in these boards without the "potatoe option" in it.
And you can't forget the spelling mistake, you have to write "potato" with a "e".
