Does anyone know?
This is starting to become a real pain... walking from screen to screen and with nothing better to do other than hack/slash. ;___;

Rivertown is the whole area west of the river nest to Aleroth.

You should be passing building (inns, houses, etc) with people to talk to and things to do.

Welcome to the forums Lilith!
Places of interest: Aleroth, the healers town is on the west side of the river. Rivertown is the most of the map on the east side of the river, the human territory. In Rivertown, there is the Farmlands to the west, Stormfist Castle in the centre, the Merchants Quarters to the north-east, the Poor Quarters to the south-east, and the Church, Cursed Abbey and Graveyard to the north. The Rivertown Sewers run under this area (funnily enough). The Dwarven Village lies in the Dwarven Forest to the east of Rivertown (same map). The Baracks and other military camps are to the south (same map) and the Orc Invasion is coming from the south-east. Verdistis is another large town north of Rivertown. South of Rivertown lies the Dark Forest. The Dwarven Halls are in the cliffs to the west of the Dark Forest and the Elven Village lies to the south.
There are plenty more places of interest, but this should help with the major landmarks. Enjoy!

Ahhh... thanks a lot for the response!
Well, I hope it won't start to become more tiresome.
Thanks!

Well, then get your fill of quests before you hit the gong. (It'll make sense when you get there.) The end section of the game is entirely hack-and-slash. It wasn't meant to be, but deadlines insisted. Thankfully the ending's not too long.

It's okay... I went around doing some hack and slash first before I start doing the quests(ooh boy... there are a lot to be done and I've only spoken to a few of the important NPCs).
Anyway, I sincerely hope that I won't die trying to find a merchant who can sell me a couple of chests. ;__; I've noticed that some areas are completely off-limits to my character. Especially the orc drummer erk... ><;; Less than 5 hits and I'm dead!

It wasn't meant to be, but deadlines insisted. Thankfully the ending's not too long. Actually, I don't believe the ending is bad because it is hack and slash. It is bad because it is excessively easy hack and slash. Those gargoyles for instance. They just hover there doing nothing while you fire away at them. The only challenge is Josephine and she really isn't that hard if you use the right skills. The whole beginning in the catacombs is all hack and slash, but it is challenging and fun. That battle after you kill the Necromancer might even be the best of the game--challenging, with tactics required. You could actually die --unlike the ending.

The thing with Divine Divinity is that it was designed to be played as an RPG or a hack-and-slash. If you hack-and-slash your way through the game, you are at a significantly lower level at the end of the game making for more of a challenge.
Perhaps the ending could scale based on how many quests you do or how many days pass. Evil grows every day until you arrive...

orc drummers heal themselves So do heavy orc drummers, but Orc drummers have like 800+ hp, and Heavy Orc Drummers have like ~400hp? (3 or 4 hits and they're dead at the moment doing ~100 a hit). Orc drummers are just ANNOYING. You have to get them to attack you so they don't heal themselves.

Oh orc drummers huh?
I finally figured out a way to kill them. Just keep freezing them and keep hacking at them. They'll die eventually.
On another hand, what level was your character when you went into Stormfist castle?

I think i was 20-25. It is recommended to be at least 20.
A good sword will also kill the orc drummers.

Level 20??! LOL
I was level 14 when I went in. Too late, I wasted over 1 hour fighting steel guardians when I realised what a mistake it was and had to reload a previous save game. =P

Orc Drummer? I've killed 3 already and are in lvl 12. Killed my first once I headed to Rivertown. Used poision arrow on it so he couldn't heal himself. But that's with ranged. Using melee as a warrior I had to be in a much bigger lvl.
About stormfist castle, I went there when I had finished everything possible in Rivertown and Verdistis, and a bit in Dark Forest.

Oh yah btw, in the game tips, there was a tip about mixing restoration potion with healing potion. However, I could never get it to work. Anyone else managed to get that work? ^_^
Oh well, I'm beginning to wish I had built a warrior that used some other weapon like the bow instead.
