As a mentioned in a previous post I cant rob George's bedroom because I cant get in
but more importantly is the items that I can steal and sell right back to george for alot of cash (at this early in the game)
these include a giant sword, short sword, round shield, armor on the wall, and the item in the chest(in his trade office)
Im a survivor and after getting that 500 exp from his little quest I usually sell this stuff back, but should I keep any of it for later use? would it be worthwile when I finally get this scrawney survivor up to a respectable level?

I usually kept anything I might use. There should be more than enough broken equipment and other crappy loot to sell for potions, etc. If you are sure you are not going to need something, though, sell it if the healers have the cash.

You've probably found this out by now: items are not always the same in this game. The first time I played, I nicked that armour of George and it was fantastic: had charm 5 and a couple of good attribute boosts as well as some minor elemental resistance on it - it was the best armour in the game for the next 20 or 30 levels!

Last game I started, it had 0 attribute boosters! Niente, nix, zilch. Incredible.

So if you want a good armour, my advice is to trawl for this one - i.e. save before you move your cursor over it, check out what you got and reload if it was a load of (carp). It seems to have potential for being exceptional, anyway.

20 to 30 levls is kinda a bit exaggerating....i can have one of the best shields you can get in the entire game before level 18....and i don't mean the dragon shield.....

Look, maybe it was just a bit of a fluke. I kept getting back to Gero and he never had any decent magical armour AT ALL, just plain ringmail and chainmail and leather armour. The next armour I found that was better than the George armour in _that_ game was the silver armour, i.i.r.c. and even that was (no better than) the chain armour I got at George's because that might have only had an armour value of 70 or 80 but because it had Dex+8 it increased my thaco so much that it was more effective than the raw silver armour.
Once I got Larian Armour finished, it was better of course but that was one of the last things I did before the Wastelands, and I got the complete dragon armour about the same time, so ...

Guess it was maybe just a fluke that I got such good armour early, and no good armour after for a loooong time. (And I wasn't talking shields anyhow).

ymmv, and all that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> -Peter
