I think this skill is worthwhile because while climbing through the catacombs I came across ALOT of items that needed to be identified, and while some were very good the others were crap which I quickly tossed out so I wouldnt be encumbered
but how many levels should identify reach before you stop?

All skills can be trained up to level 5. Thre aren't many level 4 or 5 items, but I took it just for convinience.

so you brought it to max level?

I put three points into it, got one level as a quest reward, and kept a belt with an Identify bonus. Playing again, I would just max it, and not bother with relying on equipment bonuses (except for maybe early in the game).

i just think that skill is worthless. if i need something identified, then i go to a shopkepper and he identifies it for 100 gold. then i can use that skill point on something that i can use.

Yup. It suited me.


Fair enough. I didn't feel like all that travel. And skill points were fairly abundant anyway.
