IIRC, it depends how you sneak - the trap is a bit south behind the door, so if you use the west part, you can sneak and survive. And I think, if you do it without "sneak", take out the run option you can just pass either - but the nook is very tiny, so it takes patience and reloading - I'd just use the north lever.
