were those pics supposed to be goths or something coz they didnt look like goths. are alot of you goths on this thread? and also how can you feel good with the way you look if you dress in black because then you look unaprochable and violent. i think that in this case prejudice is needed to sort em out coz they have serious mental difficultys. its a shame because the could have been nice normal people.....

How could you be scared of a person that likes child´s series? If you see me with my sailormoon ponytails don´t freak out

Sailor Moon ain't a kid's series. At least it wasn't meant to be. There was a lot cut out for the kids version. Tons of innuendo. I haven't seen Sailor Moon, original or cut. This is just what I've heard.

I think you're thinking of one specific image of a goth. PVC suit, too much makeup and vampire teeth? Sure there are goths like that, but gothic is really anything from that setting. It doesn't even have to be black. One of my friends has a beautiful grass-green velvel cloak. She looks very beautiful and serene in it.

Black doesn't look unapproachable or violent. I'm always smiling and happy when I walk around. I only wear jeans, a t-shirt and a jacket, nothing extravagent. I say hi to every person I pass (unless it's really crowded – that's just too tricky ).

It's not mental difficulties they have. It's just a different idea. I can't understand people that need to drive fast and rev their engines like they can't hear them, which they normally can't over their car's sound system. I can't understand yuppies that think you're a low life for not dining in fancy restaraunts daily. I don't hate any of them, I just tend not to associate with them. Let them live their bizare lives (bizare to me). It doesn't bug me.

You're right that some do go out of their way to ward others off. I don't think much of them either. But a while ago, I was dressed in a business suit, walking through the city, there and was a woman coming the other way, dressed in black, shaved head, carrying a staff. She gave me a big friendly smile as we passed. If I wasn't in a rush that day, I would have stopped to chat with her.

I know you'll have whatever ideas you'll have, and I don't intend to make you like goths or any other group of people. I just don't see a need to hate them. Let me know if I've misunderstood you.

When we started this conversation and I shared some of my most sweet memories with you I asked you not to turn this thread into a fight. I will ask you the same thing again.

Everyone has the right to believe what he wants. I am used to people during the 80´s (when goths were not so "fashionable" like now and punks were scaring people) to through us stones among other things. Please let´s not be hostile to each other. I refuse to become what other people want me to be or what they suspect that I am. A violent, hostile person who drinks blood and has serious mental disorders. I am what I am, I am proud of it and I like talking to people, care about them, have fun with them, and passionatelly love them. But above all respect what people believe and think.

So please let us all mind our manners and be nice to each other. We should think twice when we call somebody that we have never met in our life mentaly ill. It is offencive and mean. And we should think twice when we try to force people to agree with us.

I rest my case.

You spoke so nicely. Direct to my heart.

Thanks Lucretia.

I never really got to know 80s music. I was only 9 years old when the 80s finished and it was about then that I started listening to music. So I could say Utah Saints and Pet Shop Boys, but I really don't know which decade they're from. I grew up with computer games so my tastes started heavily on the electronic and eccentric side. If I appreciate 80s music, it was because it came to me in the last six years. Even one of my earliest CDs, Technohead is 1995. The Cure – now they're definately 80s. Yay for The Cure!

Intzerestingly, the Scorpions are not as popular here in Germany (where they originate from) than in anywhere else in the world ! Here in Germany they had only one or two "hits" and one of them was indeec the "Wind of Change". (Due to an insider joke of my last year at school I'd still write it "Extreme Wiond of Change", because the word "extreme" was *very* popular at that time and place at school ! )
