I have some sugestions:
rpg--> baldur'gate1+2, icewindale1+2
strategy--> command and conquer series, warcraft serie, starcraft

If you really like hack and slash (like the wastelands) Diablo1+2

Some others--> carmageddon 1+2, gta reeks, Unreal tournament (2003), MOHAA?
