Any advice on what survivor skills to work on?
I have 2 skills points left over because I'm a little undecided, another skill point in deadly gift looks good... I like the scorpions but what does 200 level mean?
also I wasnt sure whether or not its worthwhile to keep boosting the traders tongue or whatever, I think it is but some beg to differ

I had spare skill points pretty much my entire game. You don't really need another level for scorpions; they are already over powered. You can get two levels of Trader's Tongue, one by finding 3 books in the merchant's guild, and another by buying some junk from El'Gammon in the Blue Boar inn. There is so much surplus gold in Divinity, the amount you save with this skill isn't really significant later in the game, and NPCs you trade with a lot drop their prices some anyway, as their opinion of you improves.

You don't have to spend the points right away. After you become the divine one you will have several more skill options open up. A lot depends on your play style as to what survivor skills to pick--eg. poison weapon is nice, but if your scorpions do all the dirty work you don't need it, etc.

The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?

how did you always have spare skill points. i aways used them right away.

the two survivor skills that i think are the best are lockpick and deadly gift. if you don't want another deadly gift then i suggest Posion Weapon.

other survivor skill that are important are Wisdom, Know Creature, and Alchemy.

At the beginning of the game, when there were two skills I wanted that each could be leveled up on character level 12 (for example), then I would have to save at least one skill point before that so I would have enough. Keeping skill points in reserve allows you the flexibility to try out different tactics, etc when required, or get a skill that you didn't know you would need, or that would come in handy. As a warrior I bought many of the mage skills I had;
Free skills, and spell books you can buy spoilers

Level 5 of Know Creature shows an NPC's resistances, which is very handy for mages in deciding which spell to use against them.
