Hi,

I tried to get into the castle but need to do something for the watchman first...he told me to go talk to some Dr. or other up in the market area and marked it on the map. Problem is, once I get there, I can see his house but cannot enter, there does not seem to be any door. I believe it is the one in the SE of the market, directly S of the armourer's shop. Any help?

Thanks,

Kuma

To see / open doors on the north side of buildings, press the slt key.
BTW, you do not need to rush to get to the castle. I did many of the quests in Rivertown and Verdistis, cleared the Rivertown sewers and completed all three of the quests that can get you an invitation to the castle before entering.

here is how to complete the quest of the plague.

Quest: Who is responsible for the Harvest Disaster?
Solution: The Dellabaere family in the farmlands are in trouble. Their harvest is failing, but nobody knows why. Hugh Dellabaere suspects that somebody has poisoned their cornfields. That "somebody" is an orc who dwells in a cave SW of the farmlands. Kill the orc, pick up the key he drops and report back to the Dellabaeres.

Quest: An orc is the perpetrator
Solution: It appears an Orc named Tipsix was poisoning the harvest. When you killed him he dropped a key. You ought to report this to Hugh Dellabaere. -- This quest is a subquest of the "Who is responsible for the Harvest Disaster?" quest.

Quest: Where does this key fit?
Solution: Hugh asks you to find the lock on which the key you found on Tipsix' body fits. Go to the Blue Boar Inn. The key opens one of the rooms in the basement and you'll find a whole lot of more poison down there.

Quest: The key fits!
Solution: Tipsix' key (see quests above) opens a door in the Blue Boar Inn. The room is filled with more barrels of poison like the ones you found in that cave the Orc was hiding in. You should question the owner of the Inn why the poison is stored in his cellar.

Quest: The cellar was rented to Dr. Elrath
Solution: (See quests above) - It seems like the cellar was rented to a Dr. Elrath who you can find in the Merchants' Area.

Quest: Dr. Elrath's key was stolen.
Solution: (See quests above) - Dr. Elrath's claims his key to the cellar was stolen. You don't know whether to believe him or not... - Go to Dr. Elrath's house in the merchants' area and find a way into his basement by turning on/off the unusual lamps. There is evidence galore down there. Don't forget to take the potions from his cellar with you.

Quest: Dr. Elrath is a fake!
Solution: (See quests above) - After exposing our 'good' doctor as the perpetrator who was causing the plague in Rivertown you can now be quite sure he was also behind the poisoning of the harvest in the farmlands.

Quest: Dr. Elrath exposed!
Solution: (See quests above) - You find a letter in Dr. Elrath's cellar. In it is evidence that this so-called doctor is responsible for the Grey Death epidemic while everybody believed the doctor was the only person that could cure them! You must report this to the authorities. Go to Commander Ralph and expose Dr. Elrath. This will also get you an invitation to Stormfist Castle.

I KNEW IT

some one who seemed good had to be evil right in the beginning
I first thought it was that elf who kept giving the mage in the healer town drinks to try... I thought he was taking over the mage some how but I was wrong

and then there's the good doctor who just gave himself away with his shadyness

Holy Crap! It's the children of the corn. (family guy)
