Here is a website to tell you what your name means. Sarah means lady and princess. Are you surprised? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

My name is related from "Christmas day" . Never knew that before.
Nice extra on my nickname:
"Galadriël"
Means "maiden crowned with a radiant garland" in Sindarin. Galadriel was a Noldorin elf princess renowned for her [color:"orange"] beauty and wisdom [/color] in J. R. R. Tolkien's novels. The elements are galad "radiant" and riel "garlanded maiden". Alatáriel is the Quenya form of her name.
I like my name...

From the Old Norse, my real name is derived from the elements "one" and "warrior". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Something rather serous (or not, depending on your own view <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> ) :

I think I've read somewhere that Microsoft will close their FTP Server FTP.microsoft.com in April this year, but I cannot find the announcement anymore.

Therefore ... if you ever wanted to learn what's in ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles (the largest "Hall of Files" and also it's accessible for the public) , then npow you could takea look at it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Sadly they remove Reversi, the old Windows 3.0 game that was even polished into 3D for Windows 3.1 ... I've downloaded it from there ages ago.

But there are still interesting files in it ... just today I discovered Themes for Windows 95 in it : GLTHEME.TXT and FCTTHEME.EXE : Golf and NBA, as I've read from the index file ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/index.txt

There's so much stuff in it ... unfortunately some of the things you can only get to know with a good compiler , like WINDONUT.EXE or GAMES.EXE , which are self-extracting archioves of sourcecodes to some small games. I haven't managed to get them compiled and running, yet. Anyone ?
Edit : Another example is the file LAVALAMP.EXE <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Well, I'll leave it up to you now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Well, if you type them manually, theywork. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

I guess modern forums don't expect FTP-links. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Edit your post and remove all the http:// text from the start of the links.

Doesn't work. The Forum's Software ALWAYS applies an "http://" prefix to that.

In my Firefox I've encountered a strange behaviour : The browser opens the link, seemingly uses "FTP" as a search kriterium in Google, which leads to a commercial site selling FTP programs. (I've read this from the Status bar in firefox, it's very telling. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> )
