Hi!
I've been playing Divine Divinity for about 2 weeks now, and enjoying it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
But in the last hour of gameplay, my characters sight has degraded so much that I can only see a really short distance when exploring unexplored areas, and I can't see monsters/characters before they're right at my face!

I haven't patched the game, so it could be some bug that already is fixed, but if I patch it to 1.34, will my old savegames still work?

Thanks in advance! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

welcome to the forums!

hmm, do you have any of the sight inhancing skills?

I remember this is a common one, though it might be cause by something else... Raze?

The patch should fix the sight problem. Your old saves will still work fine. Some of story fixes and changes only apply to new games, but nothing serious enough to need to start over.

Ok! Thanks!
Was real worried I would have to start over if I applied the path! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Gonna try it out now!

Well, it didn't immediately fix my problem! Guess I'm gonna have to backtrack a little, to the time before I got this problem!
I tried to add two items that added a total of 4 sight, but didn't notice much of a difference. When I load one of my older saves, I only had one item with +2 to sight equipped...
It happened after I fought Raven, the guy that had kidnapped a boys parents. I noticed it when I was exploring the woods above the Archers Guild!

Oh well, luckily I don't have to go back too far :P!

Hopefully the patch will prevent you from running into this again. There is another way to 'fix' the sight radius, but it is a bit of a hack. Reloading a previous save would be more reliable.

Do you have any points in Elven Sight? If so, use iZakaroN's SaveEditor (or from Kiya's site, with description) to remove them (or give yourself skill points, if required). Re-load the save and put the skill points into Elven Sight (and maybe Ranger Sight, if you have enough). Save, and repeat if necessary. Someone else found that the sight boost when learning Elven/Ranger Sight was added right away, not calculated each time you load the game (for example), so adding and removing points to these skills can get your sight back to normal (removing the skill points does not drop your sight range and you can learn these skills multiple times, if necessary).

Ah, this worked like a charm! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
I now have normal sight (about the same I had before), and you saved me about one hour worth of replaying the part I already did (just boring exploring to fill up my automap <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />)!
So thanks a lot for the fast help! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
