Yes, it is just hard to believe, since the delivery version of the english CDs should really be 1.29. So I (and the others) just don't understand how your version number could "drop down". And since there exists a patch 1.1 for the german version (bringing the german game version from "nothing" to 1.29) I thought you somehow confused that.
Perhaps you could try the hard work of moving your save files (I think in the folder run/savegames/ ) to a save place, deinstall the game, reinstall it, start it, and check the version number. If it is 1.29, move the savegames into the appropriate place, and install the patch. If it isn't 1.29, I currently have no idea about how to continue, then the "officials" here would have to take a look at it.
