Ok, we are all familiar with her. Most of us anyway. I aplogize for the following list but people will need to have an idea of my abilities so they can advise me on how to proceed. Ok, I am sick of Josephina throwing me over her knee and saying "WHO'S MY LITTLE MAGE <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> " (SPANK! SPANK!) She can kill me in two shots sometimes with her hell spikes. She always summons her Dreadknight,
although she does not even need it. It is simply sauce for the goose (me) and my knight is only 2nd lev. My abilities are as follows; (including item boosts)

Str 70 Agi 44 Int 120 Con 60 Magic 820 Vitality 300

Resists : L-20 F-30 P-20 S-35

Spells and Abilites; (including random books and training)

Hell Sp- 2 Limbs of L- 1 Telek-2 Poly-1 Meteor-5 L.B.-5 Freeze-3 El Bolt-1

P. cloud-1 Elem. Str.-2 Wiz S.-3 Bless-2 Rest-4 Curse-1 AOG-4 Spell S.-3

Sum rat-1 Sum. Skel-2 Resur.-1 Sum D. Aid-2 Lockp.-5 Ev. Trap-1

Ranger S.-1 Wisdom-5 Surv I.-1 Aur. of C.-1 ID-4 Alch.-1 True sight-1

Boomerang-1 (dont ask me how I got that. Dont know) Aug. Dam.-2

I cannot beat her no matter how hard I try. Leveling obviously takes a while and therefore skill Points come slow. I will probably get two more at 40.
IS THERE ANY FEASIBLE WAY I CAN BEAT HER AND IF SO HOW?! Give me some advice.
Freeze and my low level curse dont touch her and her shield all but negates my
damage spells. (Wish I had deadly discs) How should I proceed on skill points
at 40? I am not worried so much about her knight since she is the one who pastes me while my low lev knight keeps hers busy. HELP!!!!!!!!

She can be damaged by poison. This time when I played it as warrior, I used the following:

- set "drink restoration potion" to a hotkey
- set "drink shadow potion" to another hotkey
- drink shadow potion
- poison weapon
- go near Josephina
- release 2 scorpions
and now, when she is distracted by the scorpions,
- hit her with the poisoned sword.
- when she starts hitting on me, quickly drink restoration potions
- when she uses hell spikes, drink shadow potion and restoration potion.
- wait till she calms down or that disturb sight-thingie she always cast on me wears off
- start from beginning.

Anthea, Reptile has no Deadly Gift, at least I didn't see it on his list. How will he release scorpions then?

Reptile, can you check at Kistandalius/mage/Ars Magicana for more spell books?

Most of the time in Ars Magicana the merchants don't have any spell books.
Is that normal?

Random... I sometimes had 2 spell books from Kis... and one from Blake at the same time - bought everything my purse could bear. Maybe it pays off to be a goody-goody <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />?

Reptile: I did it once like this -
Drank super purple potion (boosts resistances), shielded myself with both spells
my mage stood near the stairs
cast a skellie to make Josie visible
peltered her with elemental strike lvl 2; hail is good but lvl 1 in your case?
when she blinded me (eye icon) I ran up the stairs, waited for the spell to wear off, healed and shielded myself, went down again

It was tedious, but I succeeded. Do you have no ítem with the Deadly Gift ability to use scorpions?

[*]What kind of weapon do you have?
Did you ever tried to summon everything you can, to distract her, and start atacking her?

Once you start hitting her, she'll just continuesly cast that globe, but won't atack you much.

[*]And use poison, you can even turn invisible (shadow potion) and throw poison potions at her.
She won't see you, and poison should make damage.

Also poison will distract her from atacking you a little.

[*]Nice trick, use Aura of Command on her Deathknight. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

[*]And if you can still level up (did you use wish from the well?), put point in the Survivor's spell Deadly gift.

With it, you can summon Death scorpions (from scorpion trap) that'll do serious damage. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

[*]Btw, you got the boomerang skill from Warriors guild master when you joined the guild.

I am using a short sword that boosts int. con and a couple other things.
I am almost half way to 40 so If i get two points or even one I can take the
deadly gift ability. I have used poison cloud and elemental strike on her but
nothing seems to distract her. She ALWAYS uses the spikes on me and creams me.
How do you throw poison potions? I suppose I could switch to a weapon that is
more powerful in hitting, even if it does not boost stats. I will try aoc on

Throwing: Drag&drop out of your inventory, in a wide range. These bottles, barrels etc. break at once. If you've got Buad's tea in your barrel, I've never tried it: Does it work on Josie?

Boomerang: works AFAIK for 1-handers: dagger spear, axes - not sure if on potions. Activate skill in your abilities icon and then right-click on enemy.

Let's just say that Boomerang does x% (depends on skill level) of your damage (displayed in the stats menu) but has longer range.

And you can't use it on potions.

Sure, Dragon? Manual says: does not work for bows or 2-handed weapons... I've never tried it out myself <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

OK, I tried it:
It doesn't work with bows and crossbows, but it works with every two handed weapon (sword, axe,...)

How about...

Redistribute your points with the SaveEditor. Put five points into Blind.

Cast it on Josephina before she gets the chance to cast anything on you. Proceed to hellspike her to death. (Great gawd, the first hit really does matter. I had a hard time taking her down when I had to recruit Bronthion to join the Council because I let her cast her shield, summon her knight, etc. The second time - in the Black Ring dungeon - she was a piece of cake.)

What is the save editor? Sounds interesting. Would love info on it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

well, you can alter your stats with it, nothing more, nothing less
