Characters: Creation and Development
With the difference of the majority of the role playing games, Beyond Divinity does not restrict you to one class of character chosen even before beginning the adventure. In Beyond Divinity, you really create your character as playing, progressively with your evolution, and according to YOUR preferences. Your are always free to develop any skill or characteristic of your character if you wish to do it (if you have access to it). Such as for example starting to develop the ultimate warrior, then to only concentrate on the skills of the wizard if you want to do it.
Customize your hero
At the beginning of the game, you can choose the characteristics of the human character that you are playing: physical parameters (sex, size, stoutness, face, skin, hair…) AND basic skills of this character (basic class). You can choose the basic characteristics of your character (strength, intelligence, dexterity, constitution, speed…) by distributing the points at your disposal or select one of the "standard" characters which are proposed to you.
This phase of creation offers to you a range of possibilities much larger than in Divine Divinity, thanks to the passage to the 3D characters and the new functions of the skill system.
Play 2 radically opposite characters
Their souls linked by the destiny's chains, two radically different characters will have to overcome many tests to gain their freedom. One is human, the other is a Deathknight. All opposes them, except the will to tear off of the destiny's claws. If one of them dies, the other will die too.
The Elected One The Servant Of The Divine One:
Founder member of the Order of the Divine, plague of the necromancians and the wizards, he is the hero of the events of Divine Divinity which took place 20 years before. Real hero, his goal is to fight the evil by all the possible means. During a terrible confrontation with a powerful necromancian, he is projected in a demonic universe, deprived of all his capacities, and he is soulforged to a Deathknight. His destiny is to spend eternity with this creature of evil. If there is a chance to break this spell, it is worth to be tried.
The DeathKnight
We do not know a lot of things about the Deathknight, except that his personality is radically in opposition to that of the Elected One. The magic spell launched to the Elected one made of him, for an obscure reason, his forced ally. His only common point to the base with the Elected One is to not accept this situation, and to do all that is in his capacity to break this magic spell (unfortunately, it does not have enormously capacities at the beginning…;).
Need for reinforcements? Summon creatures
Even if some inhabitants of the Beyond Divinity's world express sympathy to you, none of them will join you to fight directly against the demonic forces. On the other hand, skills, linked to specific items, allow you to summon creatures which will join you when you will need it: the summoning dolls allow you to reveal a creature which will fight with you when you call it. Its limited operating range does not allow it to follow you in its alive form during your travels, but the summoning doll, remains available in your inventory all the time.
It is possible to make evolve these creatures by equipping them with the weapons and other items in your possession.
