I kept trying for the letter too...i was up at night thinking about.
How i did it at a low lever....turn into a frog right after you grab it (you have to time it perfect) and run like mad. You do have to be careful, but it worked for me. Then you can go back later and kill them for the XP.
There are more ways of doing things than with a sword! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
