Ok, i try to answer your question. Have learned French for, hm, 3 years, but havent read or spoken it for round about 10 years.

Je suis inutile = I am useless (female = feminin)
Je suis inutil = I am useless (male = masculin)

Je suis incapable de parler francais = I am not capable to speak french.

But attention! incapable is an adjectiv and has always an "e" at his end. I just said this, because at the beginning, i made this always wrong.

But: why dont you teech us greek (think, i have read, that you are from Hellas)? Ok, we dont have the right letters, but you can write it down how its spoken...
For example: ena = one, thio = two, tria = drei, tessera = four, pende = five, exi = six, epta = seven, okto = acht, enja = nine and deka = ten.

I hope, i have counted right... its a long time ago I have leerned it...

The "ij" in "wij" is pronounced as the first "e" in "where". In fact, cut the "re" from "where" and you have the correct pronuncation for "wij".

"coel" isn't a word in Dutch... "Koel" is, proncounced as "cool" in English, with the same (original) meaning: something like cold...

Is er een verschil tss "zij" (mv) en "hun"? Wij gebruiken enkel "zij" voor 3de persoon mv... (alle dialecten buiten beschouwing gelaten)

Useful = utile
Useless = inutile
To be capable = Etre capable
To not be capable = Etre incapable

Je suis inutile = I am useless (female = feminin) [color:"yellow"]Correct [/color]

Even for a male, you have to write : "je suis inutile"

You forgot one "i" and one "u".

Exemples :

Présent de l'indicatif :

[color:"orange"] No, "la sauce hollandaise" is not a kind of mayonnaise.
The only common point is the yellow color because of the egg.
"la mayonnaise" is cold.
To do a good mayonaise you need : some mustard, the yellow of one egg, salt, pepper.
You mix these ingredients, then you slowly add some oil as you continue mixing very fast.
Mayonnaise must be thick, it should not run.

"la sauce hollandaise" is made with butter, yellow of the egg, lemmon juice and probably something else.
This sauce as to be warmed on the fire, it is used with boiled fish, like "le turbot sauce hollandaise" (very good food !).

Thanks Barta, for the little explanation, being a Restaurateur, I actually know what "La sauce Hollandaise" is, and only used Mayonaise as a close example, personally though I prefer "Bernaise" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> but as I said thanks for explaining it to the comunity, as at least you seem to care <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

I did not want to say that your spelling is bad !
I just wanted to tell you to be careful with the spelling of some words if you are looking for their meaning in a dictionnary.

At any age, it's difficult to learn something new !

Do you really want to learn french ?
Or do you just want to learn the translation of some words to understand the french history ?
Or are you planing to spend some vacations in France and you want to learn some basic sentences ?

About "manger", it is just like "jouer"

dernier = last
the verb is "allée" which is from "aller" (to go).

If you want to learn basic things and if you don't have a lot of time, you could buy a CD Rom with french lessons for beginners.
During summer try to talk with french people who are visiting your country.

Indeed, I thought it might be interesting to see individual variations in dialect, certain accents etc. Does Paris have a strong accent Barta? I've heard it does.

Mind that the 1st person pluriel is "nous mang[color:"orange"]e[/color]ons", and not "nous mangons", as you would expect. It's one of those exception-rules, stating that between a "g" and an "o" you should add an "e" (the reason is to get the pronuncation right). There's a few of those rules, but for basic lessons it might already get too complicated... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> - Besides, I don't know all of em by heart <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Hmm, i think in the year of olympics in Greece, we all should learn some sentences, that would help us in the holiday. Just think about this: you win a ticket to a special event (like a final oder something else) and then you cant even ask where the toilet is, because in this moment noone speaks english except yourself...

French is a difficult language, because there are too many exceptions.
