So lets start with some useful simple things :

Where is the toilet? = pou einai i toualeta?

pou = where
einai = is (the tone pronounced in the first i. ei pronounced as i)
i = the
toualeta = toilet (the tone to the e.)

Suppose you want to buy some water :

One small bottle of water please = Ena mikro mpoukali nero parakalo

ena = one (the tone to e)
mikro = small (the tone to o)
mpoukali = bottle (the tone to a)
nero = water (the tone to o. You will notice that it is like the English Nero name. It is pronounced the same but the tone goes to o).
parakalo = please (the tone to o)


Now suppose you want to ask the price of something

How much is this? = Póso kánei

poso = how much (the tone to the first o)
kanei = this is a strange word. If it is translated correct means made but we use this expresion to ask the price of something. The tone goes to a. The ei is pronounced like english e when we say the alphabet).

This is the short and easy way to ask the price of something. There are much more ways but more complicated.

... son = they are(forgot the personal word there :s)
