There are a couple trapped chests in the
Verdistis sewers. If your spiritual resistance is higher than about 14, the spell will not effect you; there will just be a green swirl of light (IIRC) when you open the chest.
Unfortunately, as has been said, the effect is permanent due to a bug, and you need to load a previous save.
