I didn't kill any cats, but the dogs were a different story. I even had to kill Lar. Which was an honest error--I got too close to him (I had been avoiding him successfully til this point) and he started chasing me; I panicked and just fired. 2 arrows at close range=byebye doggie. I didn't know it was LAR until I got to these forums...

Anyway, if you kill one of the critters, all it's brethren hate you for it. No way to change it. Thank goodness the butterflies don't attack.

Will the cat killing frenzy mean that the quest to help the little girl recover her kitty that went down the shaft in Verdistis will result in having to kill that cat too?

no, that's not the case... that cat is 'invulnerable' <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

normally all quest related NPC's can not be killed or at least the most important persons in a quest

I tried blowing that kitty up!
I tried throwing it in the river!!
I tried putting it in a barrel and throwing that in a river!!

All to no avail...that's one tough kitty!
