I bought a house in Verdistis, the one Malcolm used to own. Why is it that every time I go there to rest it says "This is no time to sleep"? Every time that I've clicked on the bed this is what has happened. Is there some reason as to why I can't rest in my own house? Anywhere else I don't have a problem, only there.

Possibilities:
1. you left a hostile area via teleporters and one is in your house. The game thinks, you're still nearby. (I had that in one game, couldn't use my bed again)

2. There is a short time delay until you can sleep the next time

you have to wait a while to sleep again.

About 25 days have gone by. I haven't been able to sleep there at all, ever.

Maybe the bed is just never updated when the status of the house changes, from being someone else's property to being your own. You could bring the portable bed there from the house by the cursed abbey, or make a hay bed out of a couple bundles of straw (not movable).

Did not know that there is a portable bed in the abbey <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

It is not in the abbey itself, but in a house just north of there, and south west of the church. The bed is covering something of value as well...

yup, that and the fact that the bed itself can come in pretty handy as well, makes the house really priceless sort of speak <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

just drag the bed to your inventory <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Thnx Raze and Viper
I think that there are yet many things I have to discover in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> That makes me think that playing it only once is not enough.

Look around. There may be a rat scuttling around, maybe another animal? I have found that having rats nearby makes it impossible to sleep even though they are not hostile animals. If there are any, try to kill them and then try sleeping again.

I think it depends on whether the rats are hostile or not
