true, but it also might get abused to close (for some) annoying topics (for instance some people hate the 3 word story thead, and for some it's just entertainment)

Oh no I ment that the warnings would be done only from the moderators. And the 3 or 1 word story is not a thread to be hated. At least it does not offend anyone or has fights and bad language towards other forum members. It is a thread dedicated to fun.

But people who open threads and call forum members names, should be warned from the moderators and after a certain amount of warnings be banned. No rating people, no closing threads without control. What do you think?

@Lucretia: the idea of his suggestion is that USERS warn moderators...

maybe a selct group of users can wan the moderators... kind of 'user-moderators'

This sounds like an idea that could work. Only thing is that the 'user-moderators' can't let other members or each other know who they are.

Then there will be small group of elite users who are moderators or sub-moderators who have the ultimate power to judge you. I say, this is not a democracy.

Don't you think that there are enough moderators in the Larian team ?
Bronthion, Lynn, Marian, Rat, Yann (alphabetical order).
There are not a lot of problems in this forum !
I remember a big problem in september, another one in january and a little one a few days ago.

I don't read all the threads in all the sections, but i did not find spam or too much off topic in the threads i like.

People use to joke in very few threads like the island of the mentally ill or the april fools.
If some members don't like these threads they just have to ignore them.

I personally don´t think that any changes are necessary. I like the forum structure as it is now.
However I would like it very much if more larian members /moderators would be here frequently. Lynn and Marian use these boards, but Antx, Bronthion, Rat, Yann and even Lar are here very seldom.

IMHO, I think we should use the boards as they are set up. If a member finds something offensive, they should use the contact moderator button. Let our Larians decide what is acceptable and what is not. Even though we as members are well loved and practically live here, this board does belong to Larian Studios. I have in the past found members (who are no longer here, btw) offensive, but I am guilty of not using the moderator button. Other members were already taking care of the situation in their own loving way, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> so I just let it go. Anyhow, instead of evoking more rules and regulations, or more moderators, we should just make a pact to bring bad behavior to the attention of the very apt moderators we already have befor situations get out of hand, and people leave the forum with hurt or bad feelings. Thoughts?

Ok, I have been looking for this 'button' and can't seem to find it, unless you mean the 'contack us' link on the bottom at the right.

Have a look at the end of the post under the signature.
You can read "Post Extras" and you click on the third picture "Notify moderator".
