Kudos for fixing the voices. But I wonder what these last minute changes and added combat modes are.

So we introduced different combat modes. The game now offers you the choice between action, tactical or hardcore combat, each leading to very different gameplay experiences. I think this is exactly what our audience was looking for.'

Kudo points to Larian Studios for taking those risks to improve the games, though the May period may be a better time to release the games because it's the holiday periods.

Nonetheless, I am very curious (and worried) about the new combat modes though. Does Tactical means turn-based? Slower? What does action-packed mean? More like Diablo II? And...what is hardcore?

It is a great idea, but what actually is it? Is it better to spend time polishing and getting one great combat model done than to have three different lackluster combat model (not due to slopliness, but lack of time?)

And is this just the English release? What about the European release then?

That's why the German version has become Gold much earlier : It's completely without spoken dialogues.

Good question.

Implementing a true turn-based would be an enormous job and not likely to be feasible in this timeframe. My guess is you have the option for a streamlined system where you really only have to control the main character and the DK is primarily AI controlled. The system from the demo would be considered "tactical".

Does the German release has the new combat modes?

In this timeframe, making a decent AI for the DK is at least as unfeasable as adding turn based combat IMO.

My guess is that the extra combat modes, will be added in a patch to the German version.

I fear that, too, that the different "combat modes" will be included in the first Patch here in Germany.

I try to get the english special edition instead of it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Whoa. No matter what specific improvements Larian is planning, I am still quite impressed. Larian's determination to discuss Divine Divinity with its fans in a positive, non-defensive manner impressed me originally when I first discovered DD and found my way to these boards. I loved the way Larian was willing to discuss all facets of the game with the gamers who played it, and take honest feedback to heart. But I still hadn't expected them to delay Beyond Divinity to include feedback about the demo version. Wow.

This is why I continually comment to my gamer friends on other boards that Larian is the gaming company to watch. Much success to you all, and thank you for caring about your fans.

Absolutely amazing.

Thank you, Larian, for being 1 company that truly listens to what the fans want. You've taken the criticisms and it seems as though you're going to be making Beyond Divinity a far better experience than the demo was (and I liked the demo.) Now, hopefully there'll be some technical changes so I can play the game on my computer... my friends are getting sick of me using their computers to play the demo.

In his last interview, Lar has already talked about the new combat modes and about the changes for the voices.
A lot of people had reactions about the secret project but nobody had reacted to these two points.
Silven Crossroads Interview

@ Alrik
I would be very surprised if the german version of the game would not have the voices, nor the new gameplay modes.
Just 2 days to wait and we will know about it.

Excellent move Larian - you guys rock! I really hated that voice acting. Plus, this will give me more time to get through Sacred...

??? Are you serious ? They were working on german voices a few days before the german master deadline date.

Did they decided to redo the german voices too then ?!
