Look at it this way kiya...the structure of NATO is such that all member nations have to agree before actions take place. The system is seriously rediculously complicated so you never really have to worry about NATO doing anything...maybe some peacekeeping

Glad you're happy about that, Egin
Well, if more countries join, maybe Germany could sneak out of the NATO unnoticed. Don't worry, my opinion is that of a minor minority. I'd prefer neutrality instead of watching this tug-o-war about controversial interests - each cooking their own power soup.

I wish for a real peaceful international organisation...

i've read an article somewhere (sorry i can't remember where) that mentioned US has 'enjoyed' influential politician presidents but 'suffered' weak leader presidents. the last 'real' leader of US (that's what they say) was teddy roosevelt.

maybe we can look into their psychological profiles & see if our countries's leaders are really leaders or just politicians.

anyway, egin, congrats & i hope joining NATO will bring good fortune to your country. still, like kiya, i hope we can just forgo it all & be friends to everyone. except trolls.

anyway, WAR is such an archaic method to resolve conflicts as people of the past weren't that eloquent enough to talk things out. today we have all sorts of conveniences to enhance communications & yet we still resort to out-dated method like WAR to 'talk things out'. sigh... maybe earth should be bombed to stone age since human civilisation has not progressed morally as much as it has technologically.

Lews Thanks man, yes, let us hope so.

Goldy Let us hope NATO will be an organization able to aid in solving biggest problem and threat of our time - terrorism. Hope, that this organisation will act and make decisions taking into account all it's members interests, not the most powerful ones only.
And as I remember initially NATO was formed to counterpart communism threat.

Janggut What's wrong with Reagan, who was great diplomat (as he was good actor ), or Clinton, who was excellent economist? Yeah, he screwed with Lewinsky, but still economy was blossoming.

As for WAR, sadly, it is still the most efficient way to show power, the most easy way to get profits, and the most successful way to expand spheres of influence.

I've heard in the radio (here in Denmark), that Estonia's army numbers only 5,000 soldiers, yet they have troops, in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq and whatnot.

Egin I am sorry. This is true but war is also the most efficient way for people to get killed. And my personal statement is that sucks! Really. I hope that some day war will be only in RPGS.

I wish to live on a tiny island that noone cares about. That way I wouldn't have to deal with the world and all it's two-faced B.S. Most people suck and they always will!
