The total number of blocks used with this set of recovery files is 2048, so the program can not see the files on the CD at all. Are you sure you pointed the program to the correct folder on the CD? A miss-click may have had the program looking a folder above or below the 'disc3' folder. Maybe you accidentally stuck in one of the install CDs, or something?

If you double-check your procedure and still can not get ICE ECC to recognize the files, then copy the wizf.rar file to a folder on your hard drive (assuming Windows Explorer can read it ok). Next, use the recovery function in the freeware program CDCheck to copy the sound.rar file to the same folder on your hard drive. Any parts of the file it can not read it will replace with zeros, so you should end up with a 138MB file, the same size as the original.

Once you have these 2 files on the hard drive, run ICE ECC again, and have it check those versions. In this case you can set the recovery folder to be the same as the source folder, and it will repair the files directly, rather than making a fixed copy.

A cyclic redundancy check error happens when trying to extract files from a damaged archive.

If there are problems reading the CD for those 2 rar files, Windows Explorer will not be able to copy them, since it quits as soon as it encounters a problem. However, you should be able to copy them with the recovery function of CDCheck.

With the play CD in an optical drive, run CDCheck (if it isn't already started), then click on the + sign next to your optical drive letter, then the one by the 'disk3' folder. Select the sound.rar file, then click on the Recover toolbar button.

This will bring up the 'Recover setup' window, with the sound.rar file already filled in as the source file to recover. The next text box for the 'Output directory' will be blank. Click on the '...' button to the right of the text box, and then browse to a folder on your hard drive (ie 'c:\temp' or whatever) and click 'OK'.

The rest of the options you can just leave at the default settings. Click 'Continue' at the bottom right of the window, and the program will start copying the file to your hard drive.

When that is done, select the wizf.rar file and hit the Recover button. This time the output directory will be filled in already, so you can just hit 'continue' to copy this file to the same folder as the sound.rar file.
