The official name for it is: special bundle retail pack
They especially didn't mention Special Edition as it isn't one, atleast not in the sense as the term is commonly used. They bundle the booklet for free. And if you don't get it with the game you can get it for a small fee from the official website. In all likelyhood, in a couple of months it's downloadable as a pdf.
Special Editions are editions that you can not get in another way. Pack the game a cloth map and a tin figure of Lar and then you have a special edition <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
