1) ppl left
2) to many new objectives. The story turned out whole different as it was meant to be. It got all split up.
3) while in The wasteland Chronicles the objective has always stayed the same.
We should come up with our objective real soon and stick to it, sidequest tend to become to long and so the main quest got forgotten.
Thats how I think about it.
