i died doing this
but dont worry im only level 6
from the start of the game take every oppotunity to get the shadow potiions
(the one that turns you invisible) when youve got bout 4
head towards the well
when you see your fist orc run as fast as you can to the well (assigning stamina potions to hotkeys) then when you get to the well pause the game fast then while paused use a shadow thn get the poison inn the well its simple

You accidentally posted this in the Beyond Divinity forum rather than the Divine Divinity one.

But it's a good strategy nevertheless that I think lots of people have used to avoid fighting the orcs.

i have a better one. get poison weapon skill, poison potions, and a bow. having alchemy to make the poison potions helps. the orcs drop like flies. its great. i wiped out the entire orc camp on hard by running around and letting them chase me. before i got either orc encampment sabotage quest. and on the hard setting of the game. of course, you have to make sure to keep distance between you and the giant heavy orcs, that do upwards of 400 damage in one hit and have about 1500 hit points, but not to worry, since they don't shoot, just poison the bow and run away.
