Divinity is often said to be a mix of Diablo and Baldur's Gate, with a little of Ultima. I own both Baldur's Gate games and I don't particularly like the D&D style, although the story was enough to keep me playing. The combat in Divinity is much more Diablo-like. I'm advising you to buy Divinity in instead of BG2, for the new experience. It won't be a disappointing one. Just make sure you patch the game first thing. The plot is fun, maybe a little trite, (hero transforms from a nobody into the chosen one, saves the world from dark forces, fights dragons and orcs, with a wise old wizard that helps out, etc.) But the graphics and music are superior to BG, as well as the humor and world interactivity.
