From the look, both are entirely different. And from a gamweplay point of view, too.

Whereas Sacred is more Action-oriented, Gothic offers a deeper story with a lot of interaction. If you don't like hack & slash (H/S) but instead prefera deep story, then you should consider Gothic (compared to Sacred).
