Copy protection is fine to keep the average game player from copying a game and giving it to all his/her mates, so in that it's a good thing.
But trying to create an unhackable projection is surely an impossible task. The good hackers will always find a way. So when that 'advanced' projection creates problems for both the developers and the game players is it worth the trouble?
I've tried copying a few games I get lent by friends...sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. The CD copy gets an error or something, and then I say 'Oh, well can't copy that one, no big deal!'
It's enough to deter me because generally I don't care about copying games, if I like it enough, I'll just buy it. I like having the original.
