*puts hand up*

I do I do I do... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

They where always a great way to get kids into fanstasy reading.

Wish I still had them...first editions too, from 1 to 30 and I know there's more than that. Also had the Warlock magazine, only a small number of issues ever written, about 13 I think!

Also had a good few Lone Wolf books.

The FF books are still being printed and can be found in the kids sections.

Those were fun! I've tried replaying them since without cheating (taking maximum stats) and I can't get through them.

I also read the Lone Wolf series by Joe Dever when I was younger. After each book you gained a level and continued on to the next book.

I've actually used the same system to learn apart math from a book (when I was still at school; but the book wasn't part of the regular inventory there).

I never used the dice combat system...it was just too frustrating getting so far and then being killed by some goblin or something!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

I cheated...but there where far too many other ways to die to make the books very hard. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

I still have 2 books by Joe Dever called White warlord and Black Baron...Combat Heros 1...it's all based on pictures in a maze and it's 2-player with each person using one of the books to hunt the other.
