When reading this thread, I got really angry : If someone has the opinion, Sacred was soo much better than or then this person must be a notorious negator of Story and Deepness, I thought : Sacred might be a good game, but it's nothing more than H/S.

The fact that too much players concentrate on combat so much that they just cannot stop comparing it to blizzards producs is striking me.

Anywhere where there is a game which has combat in it, the people say "look ! It's another D2-Clone !" I hate this putting games into drawers !

Sacred is just another example of that. The D2-fans and German magazines insisted so long of "Sacred being a D2-clone" that finally even the marketing of Ascaron accepted that View ! You could actually watch that shift in marketing if you had been long enough on the boards !

Also, another thing that I noticed was the slowly flow of H/S-lovers into the German Forum at that time. Including the increase of stupid posts.
A forum which once had been quite a good place like this one here in the early beginnings became into a bazaar of D2-fans. They even couldn't stop applying their terms to the game.

Any time I read someone asking here while using terms that come out from blizzards products, I shake my head, vitually.

Why just can't the people look at games in their own respect and abandon the idea of having to put everything into categories ? Just because is located in a world inhabited by demons that doesn't mean it has to do *anything* with D2 !

I could write in this style on and on, but I just stop here.

The last thing I'll write down for now is : Why must every RPG be compared to products that have been enourmously successful ? Although you can tell where the influences come from, every game is unique - like the heads of the people who made it !

(Yes, I know, I'm harsh sometimes, but I cannot stop shaking my heade over that.)

When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.
