Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Restoration book in Rivertown sewers

While exploring the Rivertown sewers I found a restoration book along with other items in a "ditch" which runs across the map. I tried to pick it up nothing happens because my character is on the platform above, there must be a way to get down there to loot the book but I haven't figured away in, could someone please tell me how? I also ran into some axe wielding exacutioner dude who almost killed me, whats the story with this guy, is he apart of a quest??

telekinises is supposed to work, but i just throw a teleporter stone in there.

No, he's part of a red herring. He's guarding the fake alternate entrance to the castle.

Hello ,im new here,i would just like to follow on from the answer above and ask my own question.

The executioner guards the other entrnace but further along another guard guards a door.
Now i have lockpick upto level 5 and still cant get past the door.
Can someone tell me if there was/is a key on that part of the room to unlock the door?
If so what type of key?
Platimum,bronze,composite etc.

Reason is i love the lockpick and so very rarely use keys given to me,as a result i have 20 keys with me.

The guarded door in the jail can not be opened, by key, lever or Lockpick. It is a dead end.
