I'm actually a programmer in the game industry. I sometimes pitch in on the game design meetings and as soon as there's talk about the main character I always point out that there needs to be a female version. It's not always practical unfortunately.
There's so many more sales to be had if the game is easily accessable to women. I hope some day that all games can have a female main character, at least as an option. Besides we need more women in the game industry! I work a company with 40 employees... and there's only ONE woman, and she's the office manager / receptionist.
Men tend to be less picky... I can play a game as a female main character (except for in MMORPG's, but I have male co-workers that play females, even when they have the option to play males).
Anyway, that's my take on it... congrats to Larian be putting in female versions of every class. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
