Freeze is awesome, the hardest fights become a piece of cake if your opponent is just a frozen statue. Repair will save you a lot of money. Hail is brutal, I just pray nobody will ever use hail against me

Put 1 point in Embrace Shadows. Why you ask?
INCOMING SPOILER

Embrace Shadows has a really neat bug. Have it as your skill and right-click any NPC. As long as you're in the dark, you will turn completely invisible. Better yet, as long as you stay in the dark (caves, houses w/o candles, etc.) you can attack, STEAL FROM MERCHANTS, cast spells, etc. without being attacked!

you also find a skill in the sewer under the merchant area, can't remember the name. All you need is telekinse, which is also a good skill anyway.

minor correction: summoner in Verdistis teaches the spell "banish" instead of summon demonic aid. Here's a shameless plug for being able to go back and edit your post...

The FAQ says that editing you post is possible for one hour.

A lot of skills you need, but just 1 point will generally suffice.

Repair: Unless the item has a particularly low durability (those pesky 1/1 items), you can keep anything functional with a point spent in this skill. Don't bother having people repair your stuff; it'll soak you for $ in no time.

Alchemy: A point should probably do it, 2 tops. Minor restorations fill up 50% of your mana and health, and you can make those from easily bought minor healing and magic potions. 2 points, and you can make your own minor healing and magic potions... provided you have vials. Out of curiousity, what do you do with the vials when you mix two potions or drink one?

Poison weapon: 1-2 points. Useless later in the game, tapping an orc with a poisonous stick and just running off works wonders.

Skeletal Wall: 1 point. It's a great distraction skill; there's 5 of them, and since they're the new target on the block, your foes will fight them immediately, and leave you alone. Consider it a "Look over there!" skill to get the heat off of yourself.

Reflect missiles: 1 point. For some reason, this seems to work much better than it is supposed to. Additionally, if you have a poisoned weapon handy, every arrow that bounces off of you will take away one poison charge, and you can kill those pesky elite crossbow orcs by just standing around and being a pincushion.

Elven sight: 1-2 points is enough to see everybody around you.

More?

[color:"yellow"] Freeze, Meteor Strike and Lightning for magic combat.
Lock Pick, Telekinesis and Pick Pocket for quests and grabbing stuff.
Augment Damage and Sword Mastery for physical combat.
Of course, you can always use Magic Shield to reduce the effect of your enemy from hitting you and casting spells on you.[/color]

Working on all of those although most games i play that have telekenisis seem to be cheapend by the ease of which that makes the game.

TK's not terribly useful; there's only a few parts in the game where the treasure is inaccessible except with TK... and usually, the treasure's nothing but a bunch of gems anyway. Lockpick will work in the one instance where TK is needed to finish a quest.

Don't bother with Pickpocket. You can turn into a giant spider with the Spider statue and kill the NPC you need to pickpocket for free.

Other fun skills:
Poison Cloud (1-2): You can't aim this at a friendly character... but you can aim it near them. Since you're not technically attacking with it, you can poison people to death relatively quickly with this skill. It doesn't do very much damage, but it's hilarious to lob this spell into a crowd of civvies and make them run around with blue numbers flying out of their skulls. >:)
Pretty useless against monsters, though.

Not true; if you just kill the guy, the amulet will dump out along with the other stuff he has in his pockets(es). Just bite him and herd him away from the crowd, then polish him off (he's got like 20 hit points, so it won't take a lot of work).

I suppose that sort of approach would be better suited for an entry test into the assassin's guild, but meh, it gets the job done, right?

As far as divine skills go, put 5 points into the stat boosting one, i forget its name. dont bother with any of the others. Also, 5 points in sword mastery and another 5 in augment damage and you'll be dishin out the pain in no time
