In Windows 9x, a grey checkmarked box would mean some the selected items are read-only and some are not. In XP, a green box means that some files are read-only and some are not, or you selected a folder, and Windows could not be bothered to check the files and subfolders. I suspect clearing the read-only flag worked properly. If XP's search feature wasn't retarded you could search the Beyond Divinity folder for read-only files and folders.
