The forge is to the far north, in the NE corner of that level (by the armoury with only crappy weapons and a couple guards that attack you).

Samuel's lair should be open. The deathknights drop two keys for the room to the east and west there.

One of the extra keys is probably to unlock the trap in the arena.

Have you meet Samuel yet (south of the kitchen, than all the way east)? The key to the forge is after that.

You might want to go to the Battlefield Dungeon level 3 before blowing the place up if you have not already been there.

OK, combine the barrels of salt and coal... then combine that with the Sulfur. Go into the Forge (you should have the key) and place the explosive in the northern area (you will see it). You will trigger Act II immediately so you better hit the level 3 dungeon first, you can't go there afterwards.

btw the level 3 dungeon was so easy... Only used 1 minor heal for the whole dungeon.

i backtracked, since i wasn't far into the maze, as far as i could go, and remembered that, after dropping through the pit in the arena, there was no way back up. please tell me that i will be able to go back to that level and Fergus chamber some other way, because I left the Coal there. Frankly, after being stuck in the mucky dungeon, and soulforged, i think, to be in character, it would be a wonderful thing to make fireworks and destroy the forge.

So can one return to Fergus lair after having dropped through the hole in the arena with no rope to return up?

(do the ropes even have a use aside from scripted ones like the one found on the imp body? i noticed you couldn't throw a rope back up to the arena pit from the room with the haystack, even though the scripting of the story requires that you do this when escaping from the prison area. heh)

Yes you can go back at a later stage and no, the ropes only have a scripted use.

So how can I get back without going through the maze? I forgot the sulfer!

Also, if I have to actually fight any DeathKnights to get out of this place, I'm probably screwed. I'm level 10 now, but haven't gotten the Level 3 Battlefield key yet. I've been avoiding DK's cause they're just too tough right now.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Michael

The sulphur is in the gay medic's room. Even if you had to backtrack for the coal, you should be able to open the blocked door now, and go from the citadel into the first area, bypassing the maze.

If you combined it in the DK's inventory, maybe it got transferred to the hero, or maybe it was just moved amongst something else (try the filter buttons). It should look like a barrel similar to the coal and salt barrels.

Hmm, when you combine crucial items in the DK's inventory => goes straight to the hero's one. The coal/salt mixture looks like a barrel. Are you sure, you have all inventory buttons active? IMO it should be under miscellaneous.
