Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Warrior Skill...shield?

Is the skill "with shield" in addition to the one-handed skill or are they seperate? In other words, if I am wielding a one slashing weapon, and put skill pts into slashing damage/accuracy...will that still be good when adding a shield then getting +slashing damage with shield? Or is only one good at a time depending on whether a shield is used or not?

The two skills are separate, with only one being applied at a time, depending on if you are using a shield. You'd think there would be some overlap, but I guess that would be much harder to balance.

You can train in 1-hand Melee with Shield (I did). The trainer is either in the Battlefield area or possibly in the Barracks area. You can also train is 1-hand Melee or Shield seperately.

When you train in 1-hand with Shield your skill tree will read "Warrior Melee Specialties With Shield Slashing Accuracy Damage" (if you trained in Slashing that is).
