I have a question about charms. I have a few items (shields etc) that can contain charms. But... how do I put the charms in there? Do I drag them over each other in my inventory, or should I rightclick items or charms? Please help

http://www.kiya1.de/beyond/actgeneral/crystalbag0.pngsame procedure as with this bag. Look for an item with charm quality => left click, pane opens up - drag it next to your inventory and then drag&drop the charm into it. Item has to be equipped! Otherwise it won't work.

Thanx! Didn't know the item had to be equipped. Can't wait to get home from work and go play all evening (and night ;-) )

I found the YIT-ICERI = +100 Magicpoints charm. I am pretty early in the game. Only level 7 and in the 1st Battlefield zone. I am wondering whether to socket this in my shield or my boots. It would seem a no-brainer but for the fact that the charms CANNOT be undone and the equipment I have is not the best, being early in game. Are there more charms like this to be found? What advice have you all. Howie

Hm, in my German version 1.3 I only had 3 different golden charms and about 6-8 from all other colours each. They seem to be very rare. so, if you want to use this rare Yit => I'd only take a very, very good item, maybe a ring?
In EV 1.4 I am in Act 1 and have 2 golden charms already... (stole one)
[color:"yellow"] I recall one BF Act, not sure which one... 3? Where demons dropped charms. As this was in a pretty early German version, I don't know if this still applies. The charms I mentioned above were from the game, not from BF [/color]

I also learned that one can socket Armor tho the manual implies you can just socket weapons. TY Howard

I noticed that both my gloves and boots have 2 sockets. What types of things can be inserted into these sockets? Is it only those very rare charms? Howard

http://www.kiya1.de/beyond/actgeneral/charm1.pngjust an example, ok? See my ring in the screenie? It's an orange one and I like it => therefore I placed a golden one into it. BTW, this was a ring out of Act 1, so I will probably find better ones. You can place any charm into a slot - and any armour, belt, boots, amulet, ring, leggins etc can have the charm quality.

Kiya (or anybody), are the charms like those in DD, meaning that you can't remove one once it's socketed?

Thanks. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It's a reasonable choice on Larian's part, much as it was in DD, and adds a bit of strategic thinking to gameplay.

I've got a merchant question: why is it that items I am actually wearing show up when I am trading with the merchant? This is annoying since a few times I've sold what I was wearing and had to reload a save. It would be better if only items in inventory would appear, NOT those actually being worn. Also, what do the roots do? I get no info when I right-click on them.
Thanks! Howie

Roots => food - you need this to sleep, remember?
Trading issue => equipped items have their value in gold => this indicates, you wear it. Other stuff is valued in white. I actually like it this way. If my char leads, I see what she wears and if I need the trader to repair my stuff, I can simply switch to the appropriate icon.
If my DK is not leader - I can't see his equipped stuff. So I have to exit the trade window, take him and then I see if his stuff needs repair.
So, only the leading char has equipped stuff in the trade window.

Thanks Kiya. I had thought that they might be herbs such as ginseng or burdock root, thus have other powers. Howard
