I had the exact opposite problem, no ambient sounds, music or voice overs, but battle sounds, etc... were present.
Unfortunately the only way I could fix this was to turn down hardware acceleration one notch.
Let me know if this works, I'm kind of curios.
By the way, what are your specs.?
