O.k i worked out what happened it should be a stickied warning if you pick up any of the reagents for the cure or visit the stone area before you tak to alchemist it screws up the whole thing ;/
Someone kindly sent me a save just before start of act3 its a differnet character but saves me the hassle of starting the game again.
