Yes, you have to defeat the DK in Sammy's lair => forge key is in one of the locked chambers - and 2 DK drop a key.
I did it like this => stood at the door and took agressive mode out, so my DK didn't run into trouble. So, they came to me to fight => I used arrows. When they came into melee distance, I ordered my DK to attack. When both were low in health, I simply clicked on the exit - healed myself and then went back in - rinse and repeat. Took quite some potions and a lot of pause mode <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
